As I mentioned in my other post I have had my unit for a good while now, one of my early frustrations with it was that each layer was pre-set to a particular type (score, random, push, etc)
Well being the inquisitive type I found out that there is a hidden mode called <ADVANCE MODE> which basically allows you to freely assign the layers to whatever floats your boat, want 16 score layers? No problem, or maybe you would like a few extra bounce layers? Anyway you get the idea.
So how do you get to this layer nirvana? Easy, just hold down L1 and L5 whilst powering up your Tenori On, keep them held down until the LCD displays <ADVANCE MODE>. Now you need to go into the layer menu, scroll the wheel down to where it says MODE and you can select the type for the current layer. To change any layer first select it in play mode as you normally would, then go into the layer menu to change as described.
There are also many other secret modes hidden in button combinations whils powering up, including rom mode, wave mode, test mode and others, whilst I don't think you can do any damage doing this I can't be held responsible if you mess something up so be careful
